The Reproductive Transition: A Theoretical Support for the Demographic Dividend in Developing Countries
Abe N'Doumy NoelContext and rationale: The theory of reproductive transition is a socioanthropological model that reports on the state and evolution of reproductive health over a specific period of time in a given community. The observation unit does not concern mothers exclusively. It is a model of observation and analysis that is also interested in newborns. This is the case in this study, where the level and trends of neonatal health problems are examined in the Sikensi health area in Côte d’Ivoire. Methodology: The appeal compliance scale is the community as a whole. This is the scale halfway between the micro and the macro. This is the meso social scale. The data are collected from the delivery records of the health area. The holistic approach is the method of analysis. Conclusion: The results resulting from this approach constitute an in-depth and relevant diagnosis at Community level, likely to guide actions in favor of the demographic dividend in developing countries
